Palestinians killed
‣ 40,265 bodies brought to hospitals and registered;
◦ Of these, 16,456 bodies of children (some unidentified);
◦ 11.087 women;
◦ 885 members of medical professions;
◦ 170 journalists;
◦ 82 members of rescue teams;
◦ 289 workers of aid organizations;
‣ Of the killed minors:
◦ 2,100 babies under the age of two years, of these 115 babies born and killed during the war;
◦ 37 died due to malnutrition and dehydration.
‣ According to the rescue organization:
◦ 1,760 bodies reported as killed are not locatable;
◦ 2,210 bodies taken from graves to unknown destination and not returned;
◦ 11,560 missing.
‣ The data do not include persons killed whose bodies were not brought to hospitals or registered there, and unidentified bodies. The World Health Organization details bodies that were identified (see previous Clarification here).
Israelis killed
‣ 1,523 Israelis and foreign nationals killed;
◦ Of these, 332 soldiers killed in ground warfare.
Palestinians wounded
‣ 93,144 persons wounded;
‣ About 12,000 waiting for evacuation.
Israelis wounded
‣ About 5,400 wounded on October 7, 2023;
‣ 2,232 soldiers wounded in ground warfare.
Palestinian detainees
‣ No clear, reliable information. It is estimated that about 4,000 were arrested;
‣ 310 health professionals and 36 journalists are known with certainty to be arrested.
Israeli hostages
‣ 109 are held in captivity, alive or dead.
Displaced Palestinians
‣ New eviction orders issued in August have affected 250,000 persons, most of them already displaced;
‣ 90% of the Gaza Strip populace have been displaced at least once;
‣ The area defined “safe” has been reduced to 41.05 sq.km. which constitute 11% of the Strip’s total area, mostly in the Al Mawasi area (west of Rafah and Khan Yunis) which is also shelled. The crowding here amounts to 34,000 persons per one sq.km. Many cannot get there for lack of room;
‣ According to the UN, 19,000 children are orphans or separated from their parents. The estimate is much higher.
Displaced Israelis
‣ About 120,000 displaced persons in the north and south of the State of Israel.
Demolitions in the Gaza Strip
‣ 206 heritage and archaeological sites;
‣ 30,030 kilometers of electrical grid;
‣ 700 water wells;
‣ 198 government structures;
‣ 121 totally destroyed schools;
‣ 300 partly destroyed schools;
‣ 610 totally destroyed mosques;
‣ 214 partly destroyed mosques;
‣ 3 totally destroyed churches;
‣ 150,000 residences uninhabitable;
‣ 200,000 residences partly destroyed;
‣ 34 hospitals non-functioning;
‣ 90 clinics non-functioning;
‣ 175 displaced persons shelters shelled/bombed directly.
Hunger
‣ According to UNICEF, in July 2024 4 times the number of children suffering malnutrition were diagnosed, compared to those diagnosed in May;
‣ 99% of the Northern Strip children suffer malnutrition;
‣ 94% of the Central and Southern Strip suffer malnutrition;
‣ 10% of the pregnant and nursing women suffer severe malnutrition - therefore an increase in the number of premature births or slight birth weight;
‣ Percentage of children diagnosed as suffering severe malnutrition has risen:
◦ By 300% in the Northern Strip in July compared to May;
◦ By 156% in the Central and Southern Strip in July compared to May.
‣ 234,580 children examined - of whom 14,750 are half-a-year to 5-years-old - were diagnosed as suffering severe malnutrition.
Disease
‣ In addition to our previous report:
◦ A first case of polio (an unvaccinated 10-month-old baby) was diagnosed;
◦ 640,000 children under the age of ten are threatened.
