Tuesday, October 8, 2024 – The Gaza Strip

General

From noon, October 7th until noon October 8, 2024:

‣ 56 killed and 278 wounded persons brought to hospitals;

‣ Since October 7, 2023:

◦ 41,965 persons killed;

◦ 9,590 persons wounded.

‣ Israeli soldier killed in the Northern Strip (Jabalia), another badly wounded in the same confrontation. 25 lightly wounded.

Attacks against Israel

1. 4 rockets fired at Sderot, Nir Am, Ibim and Gevim. 2 falls reported in open areas.

Battles in between Jabalia refugee camp and the western part of Beit Lahia. Northern Strip under siege. The army intends to displace 400,000 inhabitants toward the south. No food, no water. Reports of sniper fire on anyone trying to evacuate.

Drones shoot at displaced persons

1. Beit Lahia:

‣ Israeli army threatens Kamal Adwan Hospital staff that if they do not evacuate and move all the ill and wounded within 24 hours, they will be hurt.

The hospital area has been targeted by drone fire, residential building bombed, and massive artillery fire. No food supply, water or medical equipment to the hospital, it is under total siege. There are persons killed and wounded, their number not reported.

2. Jabalia refugee camp and Jabalia Al Balad:

‣ Artillery fire;

‣ Fire in the Jabalia clinic after a bombing;

‣ Family home bombed, 7 persons killed;

‣ Group of people bombed near the Al Awda Hospital, one person killed, others wounded;

‣ The only active bakery in the Northern Strip bombed, totally burnt, 2 persons killed;

‣ A mosque bombed.

3. Beit Hanoun – artillery fire.

4. Gaza City:

Al Sabra (south) – artillery fire;

‣ Western part of the city – drone fire;

Al Zeitoun (south-east) – drone fire;

Al Rimal (city center) – public building bombed.

During the night attacks in this region, 25 persons killed, 6 children among them.

1. Al Bureij refugee camp:

‣ Artillery fire;

‣ House bombed, toddler and baby killed.

2. Nuseirat refugee camp:

‣ House bombed west of camp, people wounded;

‣ Apartment buildings bombed from the north;

‣ Drones attack vehicles, one person killed, others wounded.

Southern Strip

1. Khan Yunis and surroundings:

‣ Displaced persons evacuate the eastern part toward Al Mawasi according to the Israeli army’s instructions;

‣ Artillery fire at Abasan Al Kabira (east).

2. Rafah – Battles in city center:

‣ Mosque north of town bombed, one person killed;

‣ House north of town bombed, 10 persons killed, 3 of them children;

‣ Water supply station bombed in Khirbet Al Adas (north of town), 8 persons killed, others wounded.
