Testimony about abuse in Hebron

General Information

‣ Continued confrontations between the Palestinian Authority’s security forces and their opponents, spread to Nablus.

Raids and arrests

During the night, Israeli forces raided Azzun, Kafr Qaddum, Yatta, Beitunia, Ramallah. During the day, they raided Madama, Arraba, Awarta, Hebron, Aqraba, Silat ad-Dhahr, Silwad, Sinjil, Burqa, Husan, Al-Mughayyir, Marda, at-Tabaqa, Burin, Yatma, Umm Safa. 45 Palestinians arrested.

Army attacks against Palestinians

1. Awarta, south-east of Nablus – raided surroundings of high school, confiscated security cameras.

2. Azzun, east of Qalqilya – night raid lasting most of the day. Raids of homes, vandalized contents, detentions. 2 inhabitants were attacked, later needing medical care.

3. Silat ad-Dhahr, south of Jenin – raid and confrontations. 2 persons wounded by live fire.

4. Hebron – raid of Southern part of town around Jabal Abu Ruman and university area. Closed military zone declared while teargas used, prevention of students from exiting or entering campus.

5. Sinjil, north-east of Ramallah – vehicles confiscated (mashtuba - unlicensed).

6. Madama, south of Nablus – raid. Curfew. Confrontations.

7. Yasuf, east of Salfit – farmer attacked, his equipment confiscated.

8. Deir Istiya, west of Salfit – shots fired at Palestinian vehicle.

9. Husan, west of Nablus – raid with stun grenades.

10. Marda, south-west of Nablus – raid with stun grenades.

11. at-Tabaqa, south-west of Hebron – raid and mashtuba vehicle confiscations.

12. Burin, south of Nablus – raid and arrests.

13. Yatma, south of Nablus – raid with stun grenades.

Palestinian attacks against the Israeli forces

1. Stabbing at the Karmi'el police station – a Nahf inhabitant (inside Israel-proper) stabbed and wounded a policeman and a security guard.

Demolitions

1. Nablus – 10 cessation-of-construction orders at upper part of the city claiming building within an archeological site.

2. Aqraba, south-east of Nablus – structures demolished at Khirbet al Tawil east of the town.

3. Kufr al-Dik, west of Salfit – 2 farming structures demolished and olive trees uprooted.

4. Beit Jala, north-west of Bethlehem – Israeli forces took over 94 dunams to build a bus stop for colonists.

Palestinian attacks against Israelis

1. Bnei Brak (inside Israel proper) – runover terrorist attack: a Palestinian citizens of Israel ran over and lightly wounded a 21-year-old. Arrested nearby.

2. Efrat, north of Hebron – stones thrown at colonist vehicles.

Colonist attacks against Palestinians

1. Silwan, East Jerusalem – colonist take over home of Ghith family in the Batan Al Hawa neighborhood. In September the court ruled family be evicted in favor of the Ateret Kohanin colonist association.

2. Ramin, east of Tulkarm – colonists attack Palestinians who confront them. The forces attack the Palestinians.

3. Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya, south of Nablus – a colonist runs over a 12-year-old and escapes. Intentional run-over is claimed.
