Sunday, March 23, 2025 – The Gaza Strip

Killed persons’ official tally since October 7, 2023 has crossed the 50,000 and is now, true to today, at 50,021 persons killed. See list (Arabic)

General

‣ At least 41 persons were killed today, and 61 persons wounded.

Update on the condition of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, imprisoned by Israel since December 28, 2024:

Dr. Abu Safiya has been held in Ofer Prison, spending 25 days in total isolation. One of his interrogations lasted 13 hours. He has been undergoing lengthy torture, both physical and mental. In the last visit he had, he asked whether the body of his son, killed in the bombings several months ago, was buried and where.

Northern Strip

1. Gaza City:

Al Tuffah, east Gaza City – aerial attack around the Sha’aban Al Rais School. People injured.

2. Beit Lahia – artillery fire.

Central Strip

1. Nuseirat refugee camp:

‣ Night shelling. Another shelling and lighting bombs at dawn.

‣ Aerial attack near the Al Sawarha cemetery.

2. Al Mughraqa – artillery shelling.

3. Al Bureij refugee camp – artillery fire.

Southern Strip

1. Rafah city and surrounding – 35 persons killed until noon:

‣ Al Janina and Mirage – night bombing, people injured.

‣ The Red Crescent claims that Israeli forces surrounded several ambulances during the attack from the north. Contact with four rescue teams was lost and the Israeli army prevents access to the area.

‣ Tell Al Sultan, west – persons killed and wounded in the morning’s aerial bombing. Artillery fire later on.

‣ Tanks advance west of town aided by artillery shelling. The ambulance blocking continues.

‣ Hashasheen neighborhood – drone attack.

2. Khan Yunis city and surroundings:

‣ Aerial attack on the town. Member of Hamas Political Office, Dr. Salah Al Bardaweel and his wife were killed.

Al Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis – aerial attack, people injured.

Al Fukhari, east of Khan Yunis – house bombed, 4 persons killed.

‣ Japanese neighborhood – bombing, persons killed and wounded.

‣ Abdallah Azam Mosque, western part of town – aerial attack near the mosque.

Abasan Al Kabira, east of Khan Yunis – attack against town’s sewage vehicle.

3 persons killed.

‣ Nassar Hospital – attack. Second story hit. Set on fire. Many casualties. Surgical ward totally disfunctional.
