Background
1. March 2, 2026:
‣ Following the Israeli-American attack on Iran on February 28, 2026, Hezbollah forces launched rockets toward Israel, which responded with airstrikes, artillery fire, and a ground invasion reaching the Litani River line (14% of Lebanon’s territory, 609 sq. km., 55 localities).
2. April 17, 2026:
‣ The United States announced a ceasefire. In practice, however, Israel neither withdrew nor ceased its airstrikes and the massive destruction of infrastructure and homes in the localities under its control. The attacks have focused mainly on southern Lebanon (except for a few cases in Beirut and the Beqaa). Hezbollah continues to launch attacks, mainly explosive drones, at concentrations of Israeli military forces as well as border-line localities.
3. Between April 17, 2026 and May 14, 2026 (after the ceasefire announcement):
‣ 565 Israeli airstrikes and 203 Israeli artillery attacks were documented in Lebanon.

Scale of Displacement and Destruction
Displaced persons:
‣ Approximately 350,000 people have been displaced from their homes since March 2, 2026. About half of them — 33,897 families, including 44,800 children — are crowded into 635 shelters, most of them in schools;
◦ Poor sanitation and hygiene conditions;
◦ Limited water supply;
◦ Dependent on food aid.
Destruction:
‣ Approximately 21,000 housing units were significantly damaged or completely destroyed;
‣ 70% of the infrastructure and buildings in towns such as Bint Jbeil were destroyed or significantly damaged;
‣ 16 million tons of rubble;
‣ 22.5% of all agricultural land in Lebanon was damaged.
Attack on the Healthcare System
1. Israel (as it did in Gaza) has repeatedly attacked the Lebanese healthcare system:
‣ 60–80% of households in areas under Israeli military control are denied access to healthcare services;
